Product Description

The Total Contact Saddle Seat has been thoughtfully and scientifically designed to be the perfect partner to your Total Contact Saddle.

The Premium Saddle Seat is designed to disperse pressure over the spinal area working in the same way as the Total Contact Saddle. It has been designed with the slighter, elderly, dippy backed, high withered, shark-finned horse in mind.

With its 3D design and sculpted seat shape incorporating a pommel and cantle using layers of foam, this saddle seat will give you more rider stability and a slight twist. The top layer of foam is a resistant layer for pressure dispersal to give maximum comfort for horse and rider and eliminates any pressure at all from riders who might have prominent seat bones.

Fully crafted and hand-finished in Kent with UK-sourced materials. Made with durable high-grade English Shoulder leather. A truly British product.

Seat Care

Leather Premium Seat

Wipe down your Premium Seat with a damp cloth, then use Lincoln Glycerine Tub Soap or Lincoln Glycerine Spray Soap for a deeper clean. Use Lincoln’s Superior Leather Balsam to hydrate deeply and create a barrier against wear and tear. Apply with a sponge in light layers and allow it to soak in. Make sure to gently clean and condition the underside, too—especially after sweaty rides or wet conditions.

Ensure that your Premium Seat is stored in a damp-free place and not put away in anything other than a dry condition. Use a breathable cover, if any, and keep your saddle in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or over radiators—heat is leather’s worst enemy.

Equi-Suede Premium Saddle Seat

If your Equi-Suede Premium Seat gets dirty, let the dirt or mud dry and then use a small stiff- bristled brush, such as a fingernail brush, to lift the dirt.

Ensure that your Premium Seat is stored in a damp-free place and not put away in anything other than a dry condition.

Fitting Advice

The Premium Leather Saddle Seat has three loops and a Plastic T-bar clip on the front, this is so you can attach the saddle seat loop to the D-rings on the front of your Total Contact Saddle and adjust the fit to the size you need; the
back of your seat should touch the start of the cantle.

The Premium Saddle Seat covers a 16" through to 18" seat and measures 18" or 45.5cm from the centre of the pommel area to the centre of the back of the cantle.

The Premium Saddle Seat works best with your choice of a slim saddle cloth underneath, this way you keep the seat clean.

Love our new TCS's and seats!

We are loving our new TCS's and the new seats! The seats feel supportive and comfortable and our horses seem just fine in them. I need a narrower twist so I'm adding some shims inside it which is very easy to do. The leather is beautiful, too!

How do you advise placing an order to the United States and do you have any information on tariffs, tax or delivery charges when shipping to the US?

Total Contact Saddles

At the moment, we currently cover all duties, taxes and import fees on orders shipped to the United States, so parcels are sent Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) and our US customers should not receive customs invoices on arrival.

Delivery charges are calculated at checkout depending on the items ordered, and we generally find US delivery to be very smooth and quick.

That said, US import rules and tariffs have been changing quite rapidly recently, particularly around low-value imports and customs thresholds. Whilst we are continuing to absorb these costs for now, we unfortunately cannot guarantee that this policy will remain in place indefinitely if tariffs or import charges increase significantly in the future.

What is the difference between seats and seat pads. Is it only in fitting for shape of the horse or do they offer difference for stability and balance of the rider?

The Premium Leather Saddle Seat will afford slightly more satbility to the rider as it is more shaped than the Saddle Seat Pad with a pommel and a more pronounced cantle. My horse doesn't have high withers. Will this still work for him?

Thank you for your question! If your horse is very flat backed, the fact that the Premium Seat is very shaped can cause a bit of discomfort long term, which is why for flat-backed horses we recommend our Saddle Seat Pad as it is flat and much more flexible. Either way, when you purchase, you have 14 days to decide whether the seat is suitable for your horse. If it isn't, you can return your product for a full refund. Hope this helps!

Arrived very quickly

I have delayed writing a review as I purchased 2 TCS then put them in the spare room whilst my daughter's rode their Fell ponies bareback. Over the last couple of weeks we have been using the saddles once or twice a week. I spent ages starting at photos to make sure I was positioning the saddle right and I think, now I understand which part of a conventional saddle it imitates, the positioning is spot on. With a polypad and a Shires Arms fleece half pad the ponies don't seems to realise they have a saddle on. The saddle in turn gives my daughters confidence as they have stirrups but both comment that they can still feel their ponies moving. Both girls have a lovely saddle position and both ponies are moving beautifully. My back lady also praised the TCS for the shoulder clearance they give my sticky little ponies. I would heartily recommend for anyone who's pony is their best friend.
