Product Description

The Total Contact Saddle Seat Pad has been thoughtfully and scientifically designed to be the perfect partner to your Total Contact Saddle. 

The Saddle Seat Pad is designed to disperse pressure over the spinal area working in the same way as the Total Contact Saddle. It has been designed with the chunkier, flat-backed and more rounded horse in mind.

The Saddle Seat Pad is sculpted to a seat shape incorporating a small cantle, using layers of foam, and will give you more rider stability and a slight twist. The top layer of foam is a resistant layer for pressure dispersal to give maximum comfort for horse and rider and eliminates any pressure at all from riders who might have prominent seat bones.

Fully crafted and hand-finished in Kent with UK-sourced materials. Made with durable synthetic leather and Equi-suede. A truly British product.

Seat Care

Leather Saddle Seat Pads

Wipe down your premium seat with a damp cloth, then use Lincoln Glycerine Tub Soap or Lincoln Glycerine Spray Soap for a deeper clean. Use Lincoln’s Superior Leather Balsam to hydrate deeply and create a barrier against wear and tear. Apply with a sponge in light layers and allow it to soak in. Make sure to gently clean and condition the underside, too—especially after sweaty rides or wet conditions.

Ensure that your premium seat is stored in a damp-free place and not put away in anything other than a dry condition. Use a breathable cover, if any, and keep your saddle in a cool, dry place. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or over radiators—heat is leather’s worst enemy.

Synthetic Saddle Seat Pads

Your synthetic seat pad couldn't be easier to look after. Just wipe down with a sponge or a soft cloth dampened with warm water to lift dust and debris. Then use a synthetic-safe tack cleaner, such as Lincoln's Synthetic Tack Cleaner. Apply with a tack sponge or a damp cloth and rinse thoroughly.

Ensure that your seat pad is stored in a damp-free place and not put away in anything other than a dry condition.

Equi-Suede Saddle Seat Pads

If your Equi-Suede seat pad gets dirty, let the dirt or mud dry and then use a small stiff- bristled brush, such as a fingernail brush, to lift the dirt.

Fitting Advice

The Saddle Seat Pad has three loops and a Plastic T-bar clip on the front, this is so you can attach the Sadle Seat Pad loop to the D-rings on the front of your Total Contact Saddle to the size that you need; the back of your seat should touch the start of the cantle. The Saddle Seat Pad covers a 16" through to 18" seat and measures 17" or 43.5cm from the centre of the pommel area to the centre of the back of the cantle.

The Saddle seat pad works best with your choice of saddle cloth underneath, this way you keep the saddle seat clean.

Still working out wether better with Suber pad under of the cavallo pad under , but with either can still feel What Dan is doing still have feeling of bareback . Wow the seat pad has been just the thing, I previously had the tcs on a cl pad but my mare is a big mover and throws me backwards when she is a little fresh and I find the sheepskin slippery. What a difference the seat makes. I’d definitely recommend it. SC

I have tried the seat this morning.  It really does help! It's a great addition to the saddle.  Our menage is on a slope so the real test was the uphill trots, I didn't slide back as much and when I did move the cantle caught me and kept me secure.

Very pleased with this. It put me in a better position than before and although wasn't as restrictive or rigid as a conventional treed saddle it did the job I hoped it would and with just the one sheepskin pad under it. LN

I wanted to give you a quick update to let you know I love it!  As per our previous conversations, I was looking for a solution to help me feel supported in the back – I am happy to say the seat pad works great for this and my lower back pain after riding has disappeared and I don’t feel like I have to keep pulling myself forward to stay balanced. As for my other issue I was looking to fix – wanting a more narrow twist so that my hips do not feel pulled apart from my wide horse – the pad has worked for this too so far. I was concerned the pad might add more bulk, but so far so good! TS

I don't normally do reviews. I have a round, short-backed cob and have been using the leather TCS for 2 years now. After increasing our fitness and our last ride being 2 hours I found my back was aching so decided to try the seat. Because he would be a 15 inch saddle, I thought the children's smaller saddle might be best. It was received very quickly but, unfortunately, too small, so I contacted TCS to ask to return it under the 14 day trial. I had an immediate response even though it was a Saturday. I then ordered the Equisuede Original seat in normal size and it arrived again 2 days later. On Sunday we rode for 2 hours again and I had no pain at all. It is so comfortable and I found rising trot to be so much easier, I love it and would definitely recommend. I can't fault the company, immediate return of my money and great delivery and excellent product. Thank you for making my riding a pleasure again x

Omg this is a game changer. The horse i loan is ridden in a bareback saddle as he is too round and short bodied for a saddle. The TCS with the saddle pad is AMAZING. It's so comfortable. Cannot wait for my next ride. If you are going to get a TCS make sure you have shorter stirrup leathers as I had to put mine up quite a few holes for them to be the right length. I’ve only had the TCS for a few weeks and it has taken getting used to. I’ve had to buy a lot of new gear to accommodate it, including saddle pad, stirrup leathers, stirrups, taller riding boots, and the TCS saddle seat. However, while I’m still awaiting the taller riding boots (current boots keep getting caught on the billets), I am starting to really like the setup. It is feeling more secure and I like the close contact with my horse. My horse, who is extremely sensitive, anxious, and reactive, seems less so and more relaxed. It’s still early days, but I’m happy so far!

I love my new TCS and seat pad. My horse moves freely in it. We've done up to 2 hour hacks and had a 60cm jumping lesson. It doesn't move or slide and I feel comfortable in it without getting back pain like I do in my tree saddle.
